From News Center (Text by Luo Zhijun, Teaching Affairs and Practical Training Administration Office; Photo by Li Fei, Teaching Affairs and Practical Training Administration Office) To thoroughly implement Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era, strengthen the development of major groups and high-level major, promote classroom reform, deepen the reform of teachers, teaching material and teaching method, and improve teachers' teaching ability, the All-staff Training Meeting and Teaching & Research Activity for Teachers' Teaching Ability after Educational Reform was carried out in Liuzhou Vocational & Technical College (LVTC) from January 12 to 14, 2022.

The training meeting was held via online video, with 10 offline online meeting venues. Over 400 teachers attended the meeting. Ju Hongxia, Vice President of LVTC, and staff of teaching-related functional departments were in the main venue, and teaching administrators and teachers of 9 secondary schools were in the sub-venues. The meeting was presided over by Li Hua, Director of Teaching Affairs and Practical Training Administration Office.

The special topic of the training meeting on January 12 was "Development of High-level Major Groups", and the meeting was hosted by Professor Jin Zhitao, former President of Weihai Vocational College, and Chen Wenyong, Dean of the School of Mechanical and Electrical Engineering of LVTC. In his special report entitled "Explanation and the Systematic Development of High-level Major Groups", Professor Jin Zhitao introduced the establishment of systems of industries, major groups, and courses in the view of a specialist in professional education, explaining how to develop major groups and what to develop, both theoretically and practically. In his report entitled "Phased Summary for the Development of High-level Majors of the School of Mechanical and Electrical Engineering", Chen Wenyong introduced the experience of their participation in national demonstration major plan, Double High-levels Plan, the introduction of German training and testing system, and UK NARIC international professional certification.

The special topics of the training meeting on January 13 were "Courses and Politics" and "Job-Classroom-Competition-Certificate". First, Professor Huang Wensheng, Secretary-General of Chongqing Higher Vocational Schools Association presented a special report entitled "Strengthen the Implementation of Political Education, Construct the Pattern of Education with Ideological and Political Courses", introducing what ideological and political education is, why students should get ideological and political education, and how to apply ideological and political education to students. He also shared his experience at Chongqing Industry Polytechnic College. Then professor Long Ping, a specialist of IT-based teaching in vocational colleges of Hunan, presented a special report entitled "Practical Exploration of the Integration of Job, Classroom, Competition, and Certificate". He introduced the background and foundation, the practice and innovation, and the experience of teaching reform and practice of the integrated model of "job-classroom-competition-certificate".

The special topics of the training meeting on January 14 were "New Technology" and "Examination Transformation", which are carried out by Doctor Wang Xiwen, President of the Huaxiagong Network Intelligent Technology Research Institute, and Professor Sun Jianrong, Dean of the International School of Macau University of Science and Technology. Doctor Wang Xiwen presented a report entitled  "Introduction to New-Generation Information Technology", mainly introducing the basic concepts, technical characteristics, typical application cases of new information technologies such as cloud computing, the internet of things, big data, artificial intelligence, and blockchain. Professor Sun Jianrong delivered a lecture entitled "Learning-oriented and Teaching Quality: Teaching Design and Implementation". Taking a specific professional talent training program of LVTC as an example, he analyzed and recommended the teaching design and implementation in detail, and guided the implementation of international professional certification.

The Teaching & Research Activity was held in the form of an offline meeting on the afternoon of January 13 and January 14, attended by the teaching & research team and all teachers from secondary schools. Based on the content of the online meetings, they had deep discussions on special topics such as the development of majors and courses and teaching reforms.

The six special topics of the training meeting were all aimed at the hot and hard issues of current educational reform, as well as the urgent and key issues of teaching reform in LVTC. The training meeting helped to improve teachers' theoretical and practical ability, encouraged all staff to be engaged in the development of majors and courses, reform of classroom and teaching, and accelerated the development of key works such as "Double High Standard Plan" and "Students Quality Improvement Plan", making sure that everything goes well with high quality.
